Other Kinds of Fish
Snook- These are some of the
most sought after game fish in the state. The ten thousand Island
Everglades National Park offers a diverse area for snook fishing. They
can be caught on the offshore wrecks around the islands, in the passes
and channels and in the back county bays and creeks. With this diversity
we offer year round snook fishing. The fall is the best time of the year
for the big fish, but May thru October are all great months for fishing
the islands, with the cooler months being the best for the back country.

Redfish- We catch these fish year round,
but if you truly want to see some incredible numbers of fish then
schedule your trip for late August or September. Almost like clock work
we will be annulated with larger schools of Redfish about the 3rd week
in August. These large numbers of fish will stay strong all the way thru
November and then they spread out and we catch them all the rest of the
year. Every year we get larger schools of big fish. These fish offer
tons of fun. We have a tremendous trout fishery here on our grass flats
and these fish also move to the channels on the edges of the oyster
bars. It’s not unusual to catch between 50 – 100 fish when the bite is
on.

Tarpon- Also called the “Silver king” is a
highly sought after fish all around the world. These fish are migratory
and we get them coming and going. The big ones will start showing up
around May on their north and then they will head south again around
September and October. Plenty of these fish hang around all summer to
offer some great chances at hooking fish over 100 lbs any day of the
week.
We also have some smaller Tarpon that hang in the back country creeks
all year long. These fish generally go from Juveniles up to 30lbs or so.

only game in town. We have a huge variety to catch here. There are
plenty of days when you might catch 10 or 12 species of fish.
